Stephen E. Daury

Stephen Eugene Daury, 58, of Amsterdam, NY; passed away December 31, 2021 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam.,

Born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts on April 13, 1963, he was the son of the late Larry and Patricia Potter Daury.

Formerly a long-haul trucker, steel worker and then a regional trucker for most of his life prior to a disabling injury.

Steve enjoyed the open road, seeing many places, and the many people he met along the way. In his spare time he delighted in the outdoors, watching football, walking and spending time with his family and friends. He was a devoted family man and "a friend to everybody and anybody," who adored his family and never failed to offer help to whomever he could; his kindness, generosity sense of humor and engaging personality endeared him to all he met.

Steve was predeceased in death by his parents as well as his sister, Jeanne Daury.

In addition to his beloved girlfriend of twenty-one years, Alithia Ortega, he is survived by his seven children, Jamie Potter, Erin Potter, Paul Dietrich, Stephanie Daury, Maria Dietrich,Christina Dietrich, and Elias Dietrich, his nine grandchildren, Aurian Lupi, Nikolai Snay, Scarlette Neahr, Aria Neahr, Ecco Levesque, Gabriella Insogna, Amaya Neahr, Corra Dietrich and Christian Dietrich; and his siblings, Shellie Smith, Mary Beth Lehnuth, Sheldon Daury, Mellissa Daury, Paul Daury and Larry Daury.

Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial gathering Saturday, January 29, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00p.m. at the Riley Mortuary, Inc., 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
