Shirley Ann Evans, 85, of Woodward Avenue, Gloversville, NY; passed away Thursday February 28, 2019 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, NY.

Shirley was born in Claverack, NY on March 2, 1933 and received her education in the Poughkeepsie school system.

Shirley worked for I.B. M. in Poughkeepsie, NY; and subsequently became an antique dealer at Stone Soup Antique Gallery in Ballston Spa, NY.

Her husband, William James Evans Sr., who Shirley married September 4, 1949, predeceased Shirley on March 31, 2002.

Shirley is survived by a son, William James Evans Jr., of the state of Arizona, a daughter, Cheryl Van Vlack (David) of Gloversville, NY; grandchildren, Jamie Evans, Lon Hart, Robbie Evans, Renae Martin, John and James Kile, David, Brian and Andrew Van Vlack and Bekki Petrucci eight siblings. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Shirley was also predeceased by a son, Woody Evans.

Cremation was held at Park View Crematory in Schenectady, NY.

A memorial gathering will be held Saturday March 9, 2019 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Riley Mortuary, Inc. 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
