Sharon M. Farrell Dumblewski, 61, of Amsterdam, NY; passed away Thursday morning November 22, 2018 at St. Mary’s Healthcare in Amsterdam.
Born in Amsterdam on September 9, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Robert J. and Charlotte J. Smith Farrell.
Sharon received her education in the Amsterdam school system and was a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School, Class of 1975. She also received a degree in Fashion Design and Marketing from Mildred Elley, Albany, NY.
Sharon, along with her husband, Tim and son, Brandon owned and operated S.F.T.D. service center in Amsterdam going on 30 years. She is the “S.F.” in the S.F.T.D. service center name.
Sharon enjoyed spending time boating on the Great Sacandaga Lake with her husband, Tim and taking long walks with her dog Nonnie. Sharon also enjoyed gardening, landscaping and decorating in and around her home.
Along with her husband, Tim, whom she married April 9, 1983 and her son Brandon H. Dumblewski, Sharon is also survived by one sister, Robin J. Farrell Fitzgerald (Frank Raco), one brother, Brian H. Farrell (Carla), mother-in-law, Roberta Dumblewski, brothers-in-law, Frank Dumblewski Jr. (Rose), John Dumblewski (Melissa), Chuck Dumblewski (Lisa), Peter Dumblewski (Linda) all of Amsterdam, sisters-in-law, Susan Ryba (John) of Rotterdam, NY, Nancy Hennessey (Tom) of Mayfield, NY, Julie Coddington (Shaun) of Amsterdam and Jennifer Eplite (Teo) of Deltona, FL. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Cremation was held at Park View Crematory in Schenectady, NY.
In following Sharon’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral service.
A special thanks to Sharon’s sister-in-law, and Guardian Angel, Julie Coddington for all of her help and support, and to everyone else for their help, support and compassion during this most difficult time.
Sharon will be sadly missed by family and friends and by all the people she met on her path of love and kindness as she journeyed through her life.
