Ruth Alina Maryanopolis Chubbuck, 96, of Wilbur Street, Amsterdam, NY; passed away August 6, 2019 at Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Scotia, NY.
Born in Fultonville, NY on September 22, 1922, she was the daughter of the late John and Emma Sparr.
Ruth was a graduate of Gloversville High School.
She was employed by Barlow Manufacturing Co., and subsequently at Breton Industries, Inc., as Chief Financial Officer from 1972 until her retirement in 1989.
Ruth was predeceased by her first husband, John Maryanopolis, who was killed in action during World War II., and her second husband, Claude Chubbuck.
Ruth is survived by one son, John Maryanopolis (Linda) of Schenectady, NY; three grandchildren, John Maryanopolis (Kim), Thomas Maryanopolis (Linda) and Christopher Maryanopolis, one stepdaughter, Claudia Alexander of Ballston Spa, NY; two step grandchildren, Aimee Hufford (John) and Nicholas Alexander(Kelly), four great grandchildren and her beloved friend, C. Richard Lewis and family.
Ruth was also predeceased by three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at St. Ann’s Episcopal Church, 37 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010, where The Office for the Burial of the Dead will be celebrated by Rev. Nancy Betz.
Calling hours will be held Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Riley Mortuary, Inc. 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
Interment will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Ruth’s name may be made to St. Ann’s Episcopal Church.
