Rose C. Czeski, 87, of Clizbe Avenue, Amsterdam, NY; passed away peacefully Friday morning July 8, 2016.
She spent her final hours at the Gateway House of Peace in Ballston Spa, NY after a brief illness at St. Mary’s Hospital in Amsterdam.
Born on March 6, 1929 in Philadelphia, PA; she was the daughter of the late Fred and Rose Schwartz Krokenberger.
Rose received her education in the Amsterdam school system and was a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School, class of 1946. Rose was a longtime employee at Segel’s Jewelers in Amsterdam where she enjoyed assisting her customers in finding the perfect piece of jewelry. However, there was nothing more than her love for her family and friends. She lived everyday for her husband, sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She married Edward R. Czeski on May 26, 1951 and they recently celebrated their 65th wedding Anniversary. She is also survived by two beloved sons, James (Christina) Czeski of San Diego, California and Timothy (Janet) Czeski of Amsterdam, three adoring grandchildren, Tara Czeski, Tricia (Greg) Leone, and TJ Czeski; all whom she was extremely proud of. Her two great-grandchildren, Taelyn Rose and Tanner Charles Leone brought her so much joy and happiness. Rose is also survived by her nieces and nephews.
Rose was predeceased by her infant granddaughter Traci Lyn Czeski and her two sisters, Joan (Art) Playford and Betty Ann Brindle. Also, she was predeceased by her brothers and sisters in law, Stella (John) Malec, John (Alma) Czeski and Joseph (Dixie) Czeski.
Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated Monday, July 11th at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 156 East Main Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
Interment will follow at St. John’s cemetery in Amsterdam.
Calling hours are Sunday, July 10th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Riley Mortuary, Inc., 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
