Robert Negus

Robert Edward Negus, 81, of Sammons Trail, Fonda, NY, passed away Saturday afternoon August 30, 2014 at his home, with his loving family by his side.

Born in Schenectady, NY, on August 18, 1933, he was the son of the late Robert Edward and Melva Colliton Negus Sr.

Bob received his education and graduated from Union Free School in the Delanson NY.

Bob was employed as a yard manager and worked in several other positions at Holbrook Lumber Company in Albany, NY

Bob was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1185, Johnstown, NY and was a past member of the Esperance and Piseco Volunteer Fire Departments.

Bob enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, camping, golfing and spending time with his winter friends in Kove Estates in Florida.

Bob is survived by his wife, Barbara J Stangle Negus to whom he married November 22, 1952, two daughters, Gail Turner (J.T.) of Florence, SC., Kathy Rosecrans (Dan) of Central Bridge, NY and one son Mike Negus (Lisa) of Delanson, NY, his sister, Diane Blaha (Don) of Schenectady, NY, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and his special friend, Jim Bernier.

Private memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Bob’s family would like to thank Dr. George Vassolas, Dr. Adam Snider and the entire staff at Schenectady Cardiologist for the wonderful help and care they gave Bob.

Memorial gifts in Bob’s name may be made to Community Hospice of Amsterdam, 246 Manny Corners Road, Amsterdam, NY, 12010.
