Richard R. Gawron

Richard R. Gawron, 89, of Consaul Road, Schenectady, NY; passed away December 27, 2022.

Born in Amsterdam, NY February 28, 1933, he was the son of Stanislaw and Julianna K. Zietek Gawron.

Dick received his education in the Amsterdam school system and was a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School.

Dick was an honorably discharged United States Army veteran with the rank of Corporal, serving from 1953 to 1955.

He retired from Verizon Telecommunications.

Dick was a parishioner and communicant of St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church in Schenectady.

Dick was united in marriage to Frances Bertuch July 8, 1956 who survives him at home, his daughter, Kim (Al) Shibley, two grandchildren, Kristen (Paolo) Saggese and Marissa (Austin) Church, two great grandchildren, PJ Saggese and Jameson Church, one sister, Mary Noyes and several nieces and nephews.

There are no calling hours.

A private Mass of Christian Burial for family and friends will be celebrated Friday, January 6, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church, 1801 Union Street, Schenectady NY.

Inurnment will follow at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY.
