Rhoda M. Marcellino

Rhoda M. Marcellino, 70, of Church Street, Amsterdam, NY, passed away Tuesday morning, October 26, 2021 at home.

Born in Amsterdam on April 12, 1951, she was the daughter of the late William and Helen Palmer Joyce.

Rhoda received her education in the Amsterdam school system and was a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch Senior High School.

Rhoda retired from Verizon in Amsterdam, where she was a directory assistance operator. After retiring from Verizon, she went to work as a receptionist at St. Mary’s Healthcare.

She enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with her children.

Rhoda married Thomas Marcellino, September 22, 1979, who survives at home. Rhoda is also survived by her sons, Anthony (Rene), Thomas and Kit Jay Marcellino, her brothers, Sean Joyce (Kelly) and Walter Joyce all of Tribes Hill, NY; her sisters-in-law, Kathleen Raco Joyce, Helen Marcellino Seward and Beverly Spickerman. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Rhoda was also predeceased by her brothers, Michael, William and Peter “Jeffrey”, and her sister, Katherine “Kitsy” Joyce.

Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial prayer service Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 10: 00 a.m. at the Riley Mortuary, Inc; 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010, with Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis officiating, followed by a visitation with family until 11: 30.

Final interment will take place at St. Michael’s Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
