Rena Houghton

Rena M. Houghton, 94, of State Highway 30 Amsterdam, NY; passed away Monday morning July 26, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam, NY.

Born in Amsterdam, N; on June 25, 1916, she was the daughter of the late William and Freida Busch Hassenfuss.

Mrs Houghton received her education in the Amsterdam school system.

Mrs. Houghton was employed at Rose Snell Glove Company in Amsterdam, NY.

She was amember of the Saving Grace Baptist Church in Fonda, NY.

Mrs. Houghton is survived by her husband, S. Willis Houghton to whom to whom she was married to on July 22, 1967. Two sons, Carln Ahnert (Lynne) of Canastota, NY and Gerald Ahnert (Betsy) of Syracuse, NY; one stepson, Carroll W. Houghton of Saratoga Springs, NY; one Step Daughter, Dale F. Roach of Lowville, NY; two brothers, Edward Hassenfuss of Broadalbin, NY and Robert Hassenfuss of Amsterdam, NY; one sister Carol Barton of the state of Oregon, two grandchildren, David Ahnert and Teresa Follet, four great grandchildren, stepgrandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

A daughter, one brother and two sisters predeceased mrs. Houghton.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday morning at 11:00 at the Tiley Mortuary, Inc. 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY.

Interment will be at Evergreen Memorial Park and Garden in Schenectady, NY.

Calling hours will be held from 9:30 to 11:00 prior to the rvice at the mortuary.
