Ramon Luis Contreras

Ramon (Wao) Luis Contreras Jr., 43, of Glenville, NY went to be with the Lord on Saturday,

September 10, 2022.

Born in Amsterdam, NY on July 1, 1979, he was the son of Minerva Turell

and Ramon (Chino) Luis Contreras.

A lifelong resident of the area, Ramon worked hard all of his life. His most recent

accomplishment was completing his bachelors with Summa Cum Laude honors in computer

information systems majoring in software programming from DeVry University. He was

employed by Prager Metis CPAs as an IT associate and was also an assistant Professor at

CUNY.

In May 2016, he asked for Valerie Gracia’s hand in marriage and they were blessed with a

beautiful daughter. He was dedicated to his family. He also enjoyed working on computers, had

a love for music, and always enjoyed expressing himself through tattoos and fashion.Wao had

multiple friends near and far that he always kept close contact with. He always considered his

friends- family. He was well known for being social and loved being the center of attention. He

was also known for his infectious laugh and jokes often at the expense of family and friends.

When Wao was around there was never a dull moment. He will be greatly missed by all those

that knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was survived by his loving fiance Valerie Garcia of Glenville; his

daughter Nova (Wu) Contreras and step daughter Hailey Blanco. He also leaves behind his

sisters Josie (Joshua) LaPorta and Dally Carr; nieces and nephews Jonathon Pereira, Meshaw

Alvarez, Tylei Martinez, Armanhi Felicano, and Khiara Felicano; aunts and uncles Monin Turell,

Samuel Hernandez, Jose ( Maria) Turell, Gloria Agosto, China (Papo) Arzuaga and several

cousins from New York, Puerto Rico, Arizona, Florida and Connecticut.

Relatives and friends are invited to join us for a celebration of life for Ramon on Tuesday

September 20,2022 at 5p at Calvary Assembly of God Church on 200 E. Main St. Amsterdam,

NY 12010.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ramon can be made to his family for his children.
