Penny Jo Swart

Penny Jo Swart, 65, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2022 at her Liberty ARC Residence, Village Lane West, Amsterdam.

She was born in Amsterdam on March 3, 1957 to the late Arden C. and Josephine Dennison Swart.

Penny graduated from Wilbur H. Lynch Senior High School. She used to enjoy riding her bicycle and to volunteer at Montgomery County SPCA. She was a caring person and loved to assist others however she could. She was a participant of the Liberty ARC Day Treatment Program for more than forty years and a resident for over 20 years.

She is survived by her sister Debi Cannizzaro and brother in-law Michael Cannizzaro of Canton, Georgia and sister in-law Pam Swart of Amsterdam, nieces, nephews, cousins, Liberty ARC housemates and staff in Amsterdam and Fort Plain.

In addition to her parents, Penny was predeceased by her brother, David D. Swart.

Funeral services will be private. Penny’s Liberty family will join to celebrate her life at a later date.
