Patricia Dufresne

Patricia F. Dufresne, 84, of Ellsworth Street, Amsterdam, NY; passed away Tuesday evening July 7, 2015 at Wilkinson Residential Healthcare Facility in Amsterdam.
Born January 24, 1931 in Amsterdam, she was the daughter of James D. and Edna
M. Lennebecker Gilligan.

Ms. Dufresne was a 1948 graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School. She was also a
graduate of the State University of Albany and of the Rockefeller Graduate School
of Public Affairs at SUNY , Albany.

Pat was employed at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam for twenty-five years,
retiring in 1994. After that she worked at Liberty Enterprises until 2010. She was a
past member of the Horace J. Inman Senior Center where she served on the
board of Directors for 6 years.

She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Amsterdam NY

Pat was actively involved in the upbringing of her grandchildren, devoting all of
her free time to them. She loved to garden and was an avid lover of cats, adopting
many strays over the years.

Survivors include her two daughters; Jean M. Costello of Sarasota, Florida and
Moira A. (Robert) Furman of Hagaman, NY, a brother James J. (Darlene) Gilligan of
Portal, AR, a grand-daughter Mary Kathryn Costello-Klein (Jonathan) of Sarasota
FL, three grandsons Robert M. Furman III of Hagaman, James D. Furman of
Amsterdam and John T. Furman of Hagaman, and a great-grand daughter,
Rosemary J. Klein. Also surviving are nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 8:30 at the Riley Mortuary, Inc., 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, followed at 9:15 by a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, 156 East Main Street, Amsterdam.

Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fort Johnson, NY.

Calling hours are Friday from 3 to 6 at the Riley Mortuary.
