Patricia Costello

Mrs. Mary (Pat) Costello, 86, formerly of Lincoln Avenue, Amsterdam, New York passed away Sunday evening August 1, 2010 at her daughters home in Wake Forest, North Carolina.

Born in Saranac Lake, New York on May 4, 1924, she was a daughter of the late James and Ruth LaBounty Harrigan.

Mrs. Costello received her education in the Saranac Lake school system.

Mrs. Costello retired from Amsterdam Memorial Hospital, where she worked as the head of the cafeteria in the food service department. She also worked at Mohawk Sportswear in Amsterdam.

While living in Amsterdam, she was a parishioner and communicant of St. Mary's Church.

Her husband, James P. Costello to whom she was married on June 17, 1946, passed away on November 29, 1999. Her son, James P. Costello Jr., also predeceased Mrs. Costello.

Two daughters survive Mrs. Costello, Colleen Costello (Andrew) Dean of Beach Lake, Pennsylvania and Dr. Nancy Costello (Robert) Rollar of Wake Forest, North Carolina, one sister, Margaret Harrigan of North Vassalboro, Maine and one grandson Luke Costello Dean, four nieces and four nephews also survive.

Friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated on Thursday morning August 5, 2010 at 9:15 at St. Mary's Church 156 East Main Street, Amsterdam, New York 12010.

Interment will be at St. Cecilia's Cemetery in Fonda, New York.
