Patricia Krahmer, 89, of Tribes Hill, NY; passed away at the Wilkinson RHCF on March 11, 2020 after a long illness.
Born in Amsterdam, NY on February 11, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Kathleen Dolan Ford.
Patricia grew up in Amsterdam and graduated from Wilbur H. Lynch High School. After graduation, Patricia worked various retail stores in and around Amsterdam.
Patricia has been married to Douglas Krahmer for the past 54 years and both reside in Tribes Hill. She was also a homemaker for many years while raising her three sons (Kevin, Bobby and Rodney).
Patricia started back to work at the MCT Credit Union, which at the time was run out of her sister’s house on Glen Avenue. The Credit Union then moved to Guy Park Avenue. Patricia retired from the Credit Union where she held the position of Assistant Treasurer.
Over the years Pat and Doug enjoyed attending the festivals and events around the area and at Hunter Mountain during the summer. They also had the chance to visit their son Bob when he was living in Florida, Texas, Colorado and Pennsylvania.
Up until a stroke in 2016, Patricia was a very social person and was the life of the party and liked to play pranks on other people. She loved her sons dearly and her face lit up anytime children were around. She also loved to read, do crossword puzzles and was an avid NY Yankees fan. She and her husband liked to complete jigsaw puzzles and after completing them, would frame them. They especially liked to complete puzzles by Thomas Kincade. She liked to plant flowers around the house and around a large windmill in the yard. Patricia loved animals and was quite fond of cats, especially Midnight and Shadow, who over the past years never left her side.
Patricia is survived by her husband, Douglas and her three sons, Kevin (Nancy) Lenahan of Gloversville, Robert Lenahan of Imperial, PA; and Rodney (Denise) Krahmer of Amsterdam, her sister, Marilyn (Frank) Ford of Middleburgh, her brother in law, David Krahmer (Lucille) of Pattersonville, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also predeceased by her brother, Edward Ford.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, March 18, 2020 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Riley Mortuary, Inc., 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010, where a humanistic funeral service will be held at 6 p.m.
Interment will take place this spring at Pine Grove Cemetery, Tribes Hill, NY.
Patricia’s family would like to thank the staff and nurses on the 3rd floor for all of the compassion and care they showed towards her during her stay.
