Norman Phillips

Norman T. “Skippy” Phillips Jr., 60, passed away Tuesday May 30, 2017 at St. Mary’s Healthcare in Amsterdam, NY.

Born on September 7, 1956, he is the son of Norman T Phillips Sr., of Wayne Township, Williamsfield, OH; and the late Louise Slater Phillips who passed away in 2015.

Skippy received his education and graduated from Grand Valley High School in Orwell, Ohio.

Skippy was last employed as a tow motor operator at Adirondack Knitting Mills in Amsterdam.

Skippy enjoyed hunting and played in several Amsterdam pool leagues.

He is survived by one son, Edward Lipps of Orwell, OH; one brother Thomas Phillips of Douglasville, GA; one sister, Connie Petrus of Dallas, GA; his granddaughter, Mckayla Lipps of Vernon Township, OH. Four nephews and many cousins also survive.

Norman was also predeceased by his wife, Bernice Phillips, two brothers, Calvin H. Phillips and Franklin H. Phillips and one sister, Janet Louise Phillips.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service Saturday June 3, 2017 at 11:30 at Fairview Cemetery in Amsterdam.
