Nancy G. Cocker

Nancy G. Cocker, 82, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2025.

Nancy was born in Amsterdam on February 12, 1943 to the late Salvator and Yolanda Favorito Giardino. She graduated from Wilbur H. Lynch Senior High School and went on to work at St. Mary’s Hospital in Amsterdam until retiring from the radiology and medical imaging department in 2005.

On November 21, 1965 she married Richard L. Cocker and together raised their family. She was a devoted wife and mother but more than anything loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Nancy is survived by her husband Richard, her children Joseph R. Cocker, Thomas M. (Sherry) Cocker and Marie (Steven) Rhodes; grandchildren, Steven (Jessica) Rhodes, Matthew (Julia ) Rhodes, Victoria (Brandon) Rogers, Benjamin Rhodes, and Ryan and Amanda Cocker; five great-grandchildren and another soon to be introduced. Also surviving are sisters Frances Gargiulo and Joann (Robert) Brown and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Nancy’s family extends heartfelt thanks to her friend and neighbor Dr. Emily Etzkorn, St. Mary’s Healthcare Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit, and the Amsterdam office of NYOH.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, April 11, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 156 East Main Street, Amsterdam, NY,

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Nancy’s family at St. Mary’s Church between 10:30 a.m and 12 p.m. prior to the Funeral Mass.

Inurnment will be at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery
