Mildred Kaszuba

Mildred “Milly” Evelyn Kaszuba, 88, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2014, in the Wilkinson Nursing Facility, where she resided since May of 2009.

Milly was born in Amsterdam, NY; on January 13, 1926. She was a daughter of Mary Jane and Thomas Lockhart. She was a lifelong Amsterdam resident and alumni of St Mary’s Institute. Milly married Raymond R. Kaszuba on May 27, 1945, who predeceased her on September 13, 2009. Survivors include her beloved son, Ronald R. Kaszuba, daughter-in-law, Sharon, and two grandchildren, Melissa Kaszuba and Ronald R. Kaszuba Jr.

Milly was a homemaker and was employed at several local businesses throughout her life. She was a member and president of St Mary’s Seniors; member of Perth Seniors; and a communicant of St Mary’s Church. Milly enjoyed cooking, current events in and around Amsterdam, and traveling with both her senior groups. Milly took annual trips to Florida with her close family throughout the years. Milly also enjoyed caring for her grandchildren and watching them grow up, which included attending various extracurricular activities and sporting events.

She was predeceased by her siblings Margaret Wiley, Charles Prior, Thomas Lockhart, John “Jake” Lockhart, and Virginia Frank; niece, Eileen little; and nephew, Jack Lockhart.

Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 8:30 at the Riley Mortuary, Inc. 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, followed at 9:15 by a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, 156 East Main Street, Amsterdam.

Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fort Johnson, NY.

Calling hours are Wednesday from 4 to 7 at the Riley Mortuary.
