Maurice L. Cole

Maurice L. “Moe” Cole, age 51, passed away on February 21, 2022, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born July 11, 1970, in Portland, Maine to Beverly and Robert Resila. Maurice was a resident of Colorado Springs since 2009 and was formerly of Amsterdam, New York.

He graduated in 1988 from Bishop Scully High School in Amsterdam, New York and earned his Associates Degree from the Community College of the Air Force.

As a Master Sergeant in the Air Force, Maurice served overseas in Iraq and Iran; he was awarded with the following military medals: NATO in Afghanistan Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, five Air Force Commendation Medals, seven Air Force Outstanding Unit Award Medals, Air Force Organizational Excellence Award Medal, seven National Defense Service Medals, and Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. He worked as a small business liaison officer in the construction industry.

Maurice enjoyed being outdoors, camping, hunting, and fishing; he was an avid sports fan throughout his life. Another love of Moe’s that played a significant part of his life was his nieces and nephew.

Maurice is survived by his parents: Beverly and Robert Resila; his sister: Cindy Bogdan (John); his nieces and nephew: Kayla, Kelsey, and Carter Bogdan; his uncles: Ronald Bearor and Rickey Bearor; his godmother: Donna Warren as well as several cousins. Maurice will be missed by his beloved dog, Shelley “The Diva.”

Maurice was predeceased by his grandparents: Robert and Inez Spears and Charles Bearor and
godfather, Flint Warren.

A memorial service and visitation will be held from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at the Riley Mortuary, Inc. 110 Division St., Amsterdam, NY.

Inurnment will take place at Pikes Peak National Cemetery in Colorado Springs, CO.
