Mark A. Lavigna, 72, passed away on March 29, 2025 at his home.
Born in Amsterdam, NY on February 25, 1953, he was the son of the late Anthony N. and Mary C. Coco Lavigna.
Mark graduated from Wilbur H. Lynch Senior High School in 1971 and worked as a printer for the Noteworthy Compamy and most recently as a driver with Amsterdam Medical Transportation.
Mark was a member and served as treasurer of Sons of The American Legion Squadron 701, American Legion John J. Wyszomirski Post 701, Polish American Veterans, and Old Men Gone Wild.
Mark is survived by his wife, Dorreen Lavigna, his son Derek (Bebe) Cedeno, and daughters, Loreal Lavigna (Mike), Cassandra Cedeno-Lochner (Ryan) and Tera Andrews (Anthony), sister Barbara Gramatikas, special niece, Alexandra, grandchildren Jared, Maxson, LeeAnna, Gini and Leyna, in-laws, many nieces, nephews, friends and “blood brother” Rob Preston.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mark's funeral service on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Riley Mortuary, 110 Division St., Amsterdam with Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams officiating. The Ceremony and Prayer of Sons of The American Legion Squadron 701 will follow.
Visitation will continue until 2:00 p.m.
