Marie A. Pacino

Marie A. Pacino, 84, of Gray Street, Amsterdam, NY; passed away Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Wilkinson RHFC in Amsterdam.

Born in Amsterdam February 13, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Gerardo and Pasqualina Colistra.

Marie received her education in the Amsterdam school system and graduated from Wilbur H, Lynch High School.

She retired from Albany Medical Center where she was a patient coordinator.

Marie was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and more recently of St. Mary’s Church both in Amsterdam.

She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her friends. She was also an avid skier, tennis player and was very athletic.

Marie was united in marriage to Joseph R. Pacino on June 17, 1956. She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Patti Petrosino (Dan) of Saratoga Springs, NY and Michele Pacino (Greg Jenkins) of Conway, SC; one granddaughter, Jessi Petrosino, two great grandchildren, Michael and Lucia Mackeekin, brother-in-law, George Whelly and sister-in-law, Jean Colistra. Many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews also survive.

Marie was also predeceased by her son, Michael G. Pacino, one brother, Henry ‘Hank’ Colistra and two sisters, Virginia Whelly and Catherine Villa.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at 11; 00 A.M. At St. Mary’s Church, 156 East Main Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010.

There are no calling hours.

Interment at Mount Carmel Cemetery will be held at a later date.
