Margot J. Devine, 65, of McClellan Avenue, Amsterdam, NY, passed away Monday morning September 22, 2014 at home, with her loving family by her side.
Born in Amsterdam on May 23, 1949, she was the daughter of Theodore and Celia Myers Boedigheimer.
Margot received her elementary education at St. Mary’s Institute and was a graduate of Bishop Scully High School, class of 67. Margot also attended CCBI in Syracuse, where she received her Business Degree.
Margot was employed as a Senior Financial Analyst for 37 years at General Electric Company in Schenectady, NY.
Margot was a parishioner and communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Amsterdam. She was also a member of the Ladies of Charity and the Amsterdam Municipal Golf Course.
Margot enjoyed reminiscing about her younger days spent sailing on the lake. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing golf with her husband, son and friends. She enjoyed puttering around her house and planting flowers. Margot created a loving home for her family and her contagious laugh and smile will always be remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Margot is survived by her husband, Kevin to whom she married May 19, 1973, her son Sean Devine of Ballston Spa, NY, her daughter, Amy M. DiCapua (Thomas) of Hawthorne, NY; her loving granddaughter, Mia Rose DiCapua, two sisters, Barbara Jones (John) of Scotia, NY, and Geraldine Rimkus of San Diego, CA. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Margot was predeceased by her sister, Virginia Hennessey and her brother in law, Victor Rimkus.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 8:30 at the Riley Mortuary, Inc. 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, followed at 9:15 by a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church 156 East Main Street, Amsterdam.
Cremation will follow. Margot’s final resting place will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fort Johnson, NY.
Calling hours are Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Riley Mortuary.
