Margaret Hampson

Margaret A. Hampson, 67 of Charles Lane, Amsterdam, NY; passed away January 23, 2014 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, NY with her loving family by her side.

Born in Amsterdam, NY on April 16, 1946 she was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Dorothy Baird McClumpha.

Margie received her education in the Amsterdam school system and was a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School. She also received a B.S. Degree from SUNY Oneonta and a B.S. Degree in Geology from R.P.I. in Troy, NY.
Margie worked both as an elementary teacher and as a Geologist.

Margie loved her children, grandchildren and all animals, especially her cats.

Margie is survived by one daughter, Corinne Holloway (Tim) of Amsterdam, NY; one son, Todd Hampson (Tracey) of Augusta, GA;, two brothers, Charles McClumpha and Chester McClumpha (Marie) all of the Town of Florida, five grandchildren, Skye and Shea Holloway, Daniel, Natalie and Luke Hampson. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Riley Mortuary, Inc. 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY.

Relatives and friends are invited to call Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. prior to the memorial service.

Memorial gifts in Margaret’s name may be made to Montgomery county SPCA, P.O. Box 484 Amsterdam, NY 12010.
