Madeline Meinecke of Northampton Road, Amsterdam, NY, passed away Tuesday morning November 17, 2015 at Home.
Born in Gloversville, NY on May 17, 1917, she was the daughter of Vincenzo and Genevieve Argento Nicosia.

Born in Gloversville, NY on May 17, 1917, she was the daughter of Vincenzo and Genevieve Argento Nicosia.
Madeline received her education in the Gloversville school system.
For a while Madeline lived in Chicago and worked for DECCA Records. Upon her returning home, she was a floor lady in several glove shops and subsequently was employed as a secretary at Ritter Chemical Company in Amsterdam. Among her co-workers, she was pleasant, kind, fair and very much loved.
Madeline had a fierce loyalty to family and friends. With patience, wisdom and stability, she guided us time after time through trials and tribulations. She did not judge us or make demands. She was an easy going, honest and knowledgeable woman who invited us to her with her smile and her presence.
Madeline is survived by two sons, Jim Meinecke (Michele) and Gus Meinecke and her daughter, Madlyn Ann Livingston, (Doug), three brothers, John, Paul and Vincenzo Nicosia (Elaine), three sisters, Frances Carr, Josephine Pecorino and Sue Buanno (Henry), eight grandchildren, James, Matthew, Rachel, Allison, Kristen and Eric Meinecke, Craig Livingston, and Brad Lamos. Many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive.
Madeline was predeceased by her husband, Gustav R.F. Meinecke, five brothers, Carmen, Joey, Pete, Sam and Tony Nicosia, two sisters, Mary Mascardi and Crucifixa Nicosia.
A memorial service, to which relatives and friends are invited, will be held on Monday morning November 23, 2015 at 11:00 at St. Ann’s Episcopal Church, 37 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
At Madeline’s request, no flowers will be accepted.
Memorial gifts in Madeline’s name may be made to Gloversville Senior Center, 53 Church Street, Gloversville, NY 12078.
