Kelly Sue Griffin, 45, passed away suddenly on December 31, 2012 at the Jupiter Medical Center in Jupiter, Florida where she had been hospitalized for a short time.

Kelly was born in Yonkers, New York on October 26, 1967.

Kelly attended local schools in Amsterdam, New York and graduated from Amsterdam High School in 1988. She lived in Amsterdam most of her life and resided with her mother over the last three years in Jupiter, Florida.

Kelly was a warm compassionate human being who knew nothing but kindness and love all her life. She brought nothing but joy to the life of her family and friends. Over the years she had participated in activities and programs at Liberty ARC and Special Olympics in her younger years at Pinesbridge School in Yorktown Heights, New York. Kelly loved shopping, theater and taking wonderful summer vacations up in Kennebunkport, Maine, but more importantly she loved being with her pride and joy, Greg Totarczyk of Amsterdam.

Kelly was the daughter of the late James Francis Griffin. She is survived by her mother, Sandra L. Griffin, her sister, Robin Griffin Fields (Peter), her niece, Lauren Paige Fields, her nephews, Peter III and Jack R. Fields, all of Palm Beach County, Florida. In addition she leaves behind her uncle and aunt, Arthur and Kim Brumley of Amsterdam, her cousin, Samantha Brumley of Verne, California, her cousins, Arthur and Joanna Brumley of Saratoga, Springs, New York and aunt Cathy Brumley also of Saratoga Springs.

Kelly Sue was also predeceased by her uncle, Roy Deal Brumley Jr., her maternal grandparents, Roy and Eleanor Brumley and her paternal grandparents, Anthony and Veronica Griffin.

Funeral services will be held Saturday January 5, 2013 at 8:30 a.m. at the Riley Mortuary, Inc. 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, New York; followed at 9:15 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church 156 East Main Street, Amsterdam, New York.

Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fort Johnson, New York.

Calling hours are Friday January 4, 2013 from 5 to 8 p.m.at the Riley Mortuary.
