Joseph A. Carline, 63, of Amsterdam, passed away suddenly on July 29, 2022, in Harwich Port, MA,
where he had been vacationing.
Joe was born in Amsterdam, NY on July 23, 1959, he was the son of the late Joseph Carline and Irene
Rizzo Carline.
Joe was raised in Amsterdam and graduated in 1977 from Amsterdam High School. He attended Fulton
Montgomery Community College and Arizona State University. After college, Joe began his working
career in the communications sector, and transitioned into the Information Technology, IT, field.
Joe had great enthusiasm for nature and all animals, especially his beloved dog Jethro! Joe found pure
joy in educating himself and others about the animal kingdom and in raising many unique and exotic
animals which include birds, reptiles, and amphibians.
Joe is survived by his sisters: Christina Bresnahan (Steve), Cathy Weiss (Jeffrey), Caryn Kent (Bill); brother
Christopher Carline, nieces, and nephews.
Joe was very engaged and involved in the life of his nieces and nephews: Sean, Brendan, Marissa,
Connor, Hunter, Dayva, and Jonah, whom he loved so very much; as well as his many cousins, aunts, and
uncles.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Riley Mortuary, 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY on
Monday August 15, 2022, from 12 o’clock noon to 2pm at which time all attendees will have an
opportunity to share their special memories of our beloved Joe.
Memorial gifts in Joe’s name may be made to Montgomery County SPCA or any animal charity of your
choice.
