John S. Mack, 69, of Amsterdam, NY; passed away Monday, September 12, 2022.
Born in Amsterdam, NY on September 1, 1953, he was the son of the late John W. and Anita Nadler Mack.
John received his education in the Amsterdam school system and was a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch Senior High School.
He was presently employed as a mechanic at Upstate Transit in Saratoga Springs, NY.
John is survived at home by his wife, Karen Kern Mack, who he married November 23, 1974, three sons, Eric Mack of Fort Johnson, NY; Brian Mack (Liz), Christopher Mack and one daughter, Jennifer Mack Augusta all of Amsterdam; one brother, Louis Mack (Dottie) of Hagaman, NY; three sisters, Lorraine Pope of Hagaman, NY; Anita Przywara of Saratoga Springs, NY and Anna Mae Rogoski (Joseph) of Hagaman,NY; one brother in law, Michael Kern of Smithtown,NY; four grandchildren, Makayla, and Hayden Augusta and Grayson and Evelina Mack, his mother in law, Lucia Kern of Amsterdam along with aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
John was also predeceased by his father in law, Louis Kern of Amsterdam.
John was a hard working master mechanic who loved his job. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his grandchildren camping, and having conversations with family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family, Sunday, September 18, 2022 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Riley Mortuary, Inc., 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
All are welcome to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated Monday, September 19, 2022 at 10:00 a.m.at St. Stephen’s Church, 51 N. Pawling Street, Hagaman, NY; with the Very Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis E.V. officiating.
