Jani Montalvo

Jani Montalvo, 86, passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Amsterdam.

Jani was born September 13, 1936 in Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico.

She was a seamstress and worked for Rose Snell Glove Shop, Amsterdam.

Jani is survived by her sons, Arquelio Gonzalez of Amsterdam, NY, Fred (Jean) Gonzales of Ballston Spa, NY, Jimmy (Paul) Gonzales of Glen Burnie, MD, and Noel Santiago Jr of Amsterdam, NY; 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren. Jani is also survived by William Montalvo, Ramon Maontalvo Jr. and Sixta Monalvo all of Puerto Rico.

She is preceded in death by her son, Frankie Gonzales, and her parents, Ramon and Rafela Pagan Montalvo.

A funeral service with Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis, E.V. presiding will be held Thursday, August 17, 2023 at 1:00 PM at the Riley Mortuary, Inc. 110 Division St., Amsterdam, NY

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM.

Interment will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Amsterdam.
