Janet M. Morin, 77 of Locust Avenue, Amsterdam, NY, passed away Thursday October 27, 2011 at St. Mary’s Healthcare in Amsterdam, NY.
Born in Amsterdam, on August 7, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Ruby Newkirk Kline.
Janet received her education in the Amsterdam school system.
She was last employed as a produce specialist at Price Chopper in Amsterdam. Previously she was employed at Liberty Enterprises, St. Mary’s Hospital, Shelly’s Supermarket and the Board of Elections.
Janet was a parishioner and communicant of St. Mary’s Church.
She was a lifetime member of the Parent Teachers Association in Amsterdam, a member of the Irish American Club and bowled in several women’s leagues.
Janet is survived by her husband of 54 years Robert D Morin to whom she was married on September 14, 1958, Two daughters, Deborah L. McMullen of Broadalbin, NY, and Susan A. Huniford (Thomas) of Pennellvile, NY, two sons, Leon Morin (Missy) of Park City, Utah and Robert W. (Jaime) of Broadalbin, ten grandchildren, Danielle, Kerry and Olivia McMullen, Parker, Colin, Blake, Jake and Marley Morin, Lauren and Kyle Huniford. Brothers and sisters-in- laws and many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Janet was predeceased by one brother, Leon Kline Jr, and one sister, Evelyn Cetnar.
Funeral services will be held on Monday morning at 10:15 at the Riley mortuary, Inc. 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, followed at 11:00 by a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be held at St. Mary’s church 156 East Main Street, Amsterdam.
Interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fort Johnson, NY.
Calling hours are Sunday from 4 to 7 at the Riley Mortuary.
