Janet Helen Wallace Paszczak (Pazak), formerly of Voorhees Rd. in Perth NY, passed away on January 22, 2021.

Born in Schenectady, NY on October 12, 1928 to the late Joseph Wallace and Mary Grant Wallace, Janet’s passion in life was her family, art, music and her ride-on lawn mower. An accomplished oil painter, Janet participated in a number of art shows throughout the Capital District. Most recently, a preview of her life’s paintings was presented at a showing in Saratoga and featured in the Saratogian Newspaper. Music also played a large role in her life where she enjoyed playing a number of Broadway show tunes on the piano including her favorite The Phantom of the Opera. A frequent attendee of the Community Concert Series in Amsterdam, Janet loved to expose her children to the Arts and was known to drag her children kicking and screaming through a number of museums and concerts. Later in her life, Janet was able to travel throughout Europe which included a number of museum visits as well as visiting Mozart’s home in Salzburg, Austria. Her last great passion was her lawn mower and the time she spent mowing her lawn provided her pure joy.

Janet was employed by the General Electric Company for ten years and also worked at St. Mary’s Hospital for a number of years. Her life was dedicated to her family and she was a member of St. Mary’s Church. Janet’s husband, Raymond Matthew Paszczak, to whom she was married to for 37 years, pre-deceased her in 1994. She was also pre-deceased by her two brothers, Bruce Wallace and Richard Wallace. She is survived by her daughter Sharon Miller of Galway, NY, her son Jeffrey Pazak (Sonia) of Sudbury, MA, her sister Ann Wallace Basila of Tyler, TX, her grandchildren Mark Miller (Sara) of Hopewell Junction, NY, Megan Miller (Lancelot) of London, UK and Katelyn and Matthew Pazak of Sudbury, MA along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to thank the staff of both Hillcrest Spring Residential Living and Wilkinson Residential Healthcare for their compassionate care, support and love. Janet lived a full and rich life and the family will conduct a memorial service at a later date to celebrate the joy and love she brought to our world.
