James Vincent Tambasco, 92, of Tryon Street, Amsterdam, NY, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2020 at St. Mary’s Health Care in Amsterdam.
Born July 12, 1928 in Amsterdam, he was the son of the late Carlo and Anella Tancredi Tambasco.
Jim Received his education in the Amsterdam school system and was a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School.
Jim was an honorably discharged United States Marine Corp veteran with the Rank of Lance Corporal, serving his country from 1952 to 1960.
Jim retired as a supervisor from Amsterdam Glove Company.
Jim was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Amsterdam.
On July 31, 1949, Jim was united in marriage to Meriulan Eckart Tambasco. Meriulan passed away December 11, 2009.
Jim is survived by two sons, James Tambasco (Donna) and Carl Tambasco (Barbara) all of Amsterdam, grandchildren, Christopher Tambasco (Kassi), Lisa Boyer (Luke), Adriane Rogers (Brad) and Melissa and Matthew Tambasco, great grandchildren, JP and Gabe Boyer, Emery and Vinny Tambasco and Corabella and Declan Rogers. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Jim was also predeceased by two sisters, Carmella Frank and Felice Richazzi and his niece, Linda Bradshaw.
There are no calling hours.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated Friday, November 13, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 39 St. John Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010 with Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis officiating.
Social distancing and face covering required.
Interment will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Amsterdam.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Jim’s name may be made to Marine Corp League 121st Street & 3rd Avenue, Troy, NY 12182.
