James J. “Milt” Morin, 65, of Amsterdam, NY; passed away peacefully Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Albany Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Amsterdam on March 1, 1955, he was the son of the lat Joseph L. and Mary R. Trunkle Morin.
Milt received his education at St. Mary’s Institute and graduated from Wilbur H. Lynch High School.
He was last employed as a truck driver for Gourmet Award Foods in Albany, NY.
Milt is survived by his wife, Donna Tomko Morin who he married June 14, 2003, one son, Michael J. Morin of Amsterdam, one sister, Laurie A. Morin (Sara) of Averill Park, NY; two stepsons, Herb VanAmerongen (Tina) of Cohoes, NY; and Joseph VanAmerongen of Amsterdam, two grandsons, Zachary and Shawn, brother and sister - in - in laws, Bill, Barbara, Paula, Maggie, David and Maryann Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
He was also predeceased by his sister, Kathleen Morin Turnbull.
Milt enjoyed fishing and spending time with his dogs but mostly fishing at Black Lake with his son and trips to Cape Vincent with friends. He loved taking rides with his wife anywhere. Being a designated driver to many concerts with his longtime friends and loved to read.
The family would like to thank the staff of Albany Medical Center CCU for the care and compassion they showed Milt. A special thanks to Doctor’s David and Tabitha.
A memorial gathering will take place Saturday December 19, 2020 fro11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Riley Mortuary, Inc., 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
Face covering and social distancing must be observed.
