James P. Feeney

James Patrick Feeney, 59, of Lansingburgh, New York, entered into eternal life on August 16, 2024 at his home.

He was born in Aberdeen, South Dakota on December 8, 1964 to the late James and Bernice Hanken Feeney and raised in Albany, New York.

Jim joined the U.S. Air Force in 1989 and during his enlistment was stationed in Germany and the Persian Gulf in support of Operation Desert Shield/Storm.

While in the service, Jim traveled extensively as he did his entire life. He settled in New Zealand for many years before returning to the United States.

Jimmy had a love for horses and racing, owning a gelding racer while in New Zealand.. He visited race tracks all over the world and was quite the handicapper. He attended St. Leo's University in Central Florida where he played tennis and was seeded third against Notre Dame.

At the time of his passing, Jim worked for the Vetrans Administration in Albany, New York.

Jimmy is survived by his sons, Sean James Travers Feeney and Ryan William Richard Feeney of Papakura, New Zealand; his sisters, Katherine Brennan and Jean Feeney Ryder as well as his loving step mother Diane Minch Feeney and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at a later date.
