Jacques Landry

Jacques O. Landry, 94 of Jewett Street, Amsterdam, NY; passed away Tuesday morning July 18, 2017 at Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility in Amsterdam.

Born in Three Rivers, Quebec, he was the son of the late Hector and Eliza Tessier Landry.

Jacques received his education and graduated from Three Rivers High School.

He retired from General Electric in Schenectady, NY as a senior machinist.

Jacques was a veteran of Canadian Armed Forces, serving from 1939 to 1945 in the European Theatre, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom and was the recipient of the Silver Star Award.

Jacques loved hunting, fishing and feeding animals.

Jacques is survived by his wife of 67 years, Eleanor, one son, Jacques J. Landry (Lisa) of Hinesburg, VT, one sister, Frances Beauleau and two grandchildren, Marissa and Jacques D. Landry. Nieces and nephews also survive.

Jacques was also predeceased by one son, Robert Landry, one sister, Gabriel Landry and seven brothers, Peter, Real, Paul, Germain, Gerard, Bruno and Francis Landry.

Cremation was held at Park View Crematory in Schenectady.

A memorial service will be held Saturday morning July 22, 2017 at 11:00 at the Riley Mortuary, Inc., 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010.

Relatives and friends are invited to call from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 prior to the funeral service.

Inurnment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fort Johnson, NY.
