Gerard J Hesslink

Gerard J. Hesslink “Hess”, 80, formerly of Amsterdam, NY; passed away March 22, 2018 at home in Mountain Home, Arkansas.

Born in Amsterdam, NY on February 20, 1938, he was the son of the late Harold and Eleanor Hesslink.

Gerard received his education in the Amsterdam school system. Soon after graduating, Gerard enlisted in the United States Navy to serve his country.

He worked for many years at General Electric in Schenectady, NY; until his retirement in 1982.

Gerard was an avid outdoorsman and loved to fish and hunt.

Gerard is survived by his children, Stephen Hesslink (Michelle) and Amy Brunner (Kerry), sister, Elaine Praisner, four grandchildren, Casey Rector, Alisa Hesslink, Taylor Hesslink, and Garecht Brunner and two great granddaughters, Kensey and Byanca. Several nieces, nephews and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 9:00 at the Riley Mortuary, Inc., 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010 with Rev. Jeffrey L’Arche M.S. officiating.

Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fort Johnson, NY.
