Gerald E. Sampson

Gerald E. Sampson Sr. 71 of Fonda, NY; passed away Thursday morning, March 9, 2023 at home with his loving family by his side.

Born in Amsterdam, NY November 12, 1951, he was the son of the late Cletus E. and Marguerite Lee Shaw Sampson

Jerry was the owner of Yellow Cab Company and Sampson Motorcar Company, both in Amsterdam.

He enjoyed going to the Stock Car races at various tracks throughout New York and beyond, Classic Cars, Towing and spending time with his family.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Gloria whom he married May 30, 1980, one son,, Gerald E. Sampson Jr; two daughters, Sherri M. Sampson and Susan M. Robertson, several grandchildren especially his two grandsons, Peanut and Cookie, several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jerry was also predeceased by a brother, Christian C. Sampson in 2014.

There are no services scheduled at this time. A memorial service will be held in May on a date and time to be announced.
