Frank D. Diblasi

Frank D. DiBlasi, 100, a lifelong resident of Amsterdam, NY; passed away Monday, August 1, 2022.

Born in Amsterdam, NY on January 22, 1922, he was the son of the late Eusebio and Carmella Ottati DiBlasi.

Frank received his education in the Amsterdam school system and graduated in 1939 from Wilbur H. Lynch High School and went on to receive his Masters Degree in teaching from Siena College.

He retired as a business teacher from Fonda - Fultonville Central School.

Frank was an honorably discharged United States Army veteran, serving from 1942 to 1946.

Frank was a former parishioner of St. Michael the Archangel church and most recently of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Amsterdam. He was also a member of the St. Agnello Club, Montgomery County Teachers Association and NYSUT.

Frank was united in marriage to Nellie Martuscello DiBlasi on April 19, 1952. She passed away February 15, 2015. Frank was also predeceased by his daughter, Mildred “Milli” DiBlasi on December 7, 2018., two sisters, Armida Kosinski and Jean Cervera.

He is survived by one brother, Angelo DiBlasi (Gilda) of Chatsworth, CA; and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Frank and Nellie enjoyed traveling to various destinations but enjoyed most of all their visits to Cape Cod. Frank was an avid New York Yankees fan. Frank also enjoyed telling many stories of his youth and adulthood growing up in Amsterdam.

Relatives and friends may call at the Riley Mortuary, Inc., 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010, Wednesday, August 10, 2022 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm, and where a prayer service will immediately follow at 12:30, with the Very Rev, O. Robert DeMartinis V.F. officiating.

Interment with military honors will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Amsterdam.
