Francis Murphy

Francis J. Murphy, 75, of Van Dyke Avenue, Amsterdam, passed away on
Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at his home, surrounded by his family.

Born in Albany, NY, on October 12, 1939, he was the son of the late John and
Anne Murphy.

Frank was a graduate of Vincentian Institute.
On April 18, 1964, he married Beverly (Bonnie) Flint, with whom he recently celebrated 50 years of
marriage.

Frank served in the United States Armed Forces as a medic from 1962-1966 and
was employed by Tobin's First Prize as a District Sales Manager, John Morrell
Food Group as a Sales Manager and Alpin Haus RV Dealership as a Salesman.
Frank has resided in Amsterdam for the past 46 years and was a member of the
Irish American Club and the Adirondack Players. He spent many hours gardening,
walking, fishing and bird watching. He also enjoyed reading, doing crossword
puzzles, playing Scrabble and watching Jeopardy. In addition, Frank treasured
time at Lake George and Cape Cod, but what gave him the greatest pleasure was
cheering on his grandchildren at sports events, spelling bees, dance recitals and
school plays. Frank was known for his wry Irish wit; he was always making people
laugh.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly Murphy; a daughter Erin Murphy of
Guilderland, NY; and his sons, William (Patrice) Murphy of Amsterdam, NY, Daniel
(Michelle) Murphy of Carmel, IN, and Matthew (Catherine) Murphy of

NY; grandchildren, David Taylor, Matthew Murphy, Francesca Murphy, Isabel
Murphy, Jack Murphy, Alina Murphy and Gerard Murphy.
