Floyd “Jack” Dodson, 77, of Shunk Road, Canajoharie, NY, passed away Thursday morning October 18, 2018, at Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, NY.

Born in Nelliston, NY; on February 5, 1941, he was the son of the late Floyd H. and Margaret Benton Dodson.

Floyd received his education in the Fort Plain school system and retired as a heavy equipment operator from Dodson Construction in Canajoharie.

Floyd was a member of teamsters local 294 in Albany, NY. He loved hunting with his sons in Summit, NY and also enjoyed fishing and wild life.

Floyd is survived by his wife, Mary Handy Ellerby Dodson, his children, Laurie Dodson, Sherwood Dodson, Ron Dodson, Rich Dodson, Charles Dodson, Duane Dodson, William Scott Dodson and Telly Jo Dodson, twenty one grandchildren, many great grandchildren, two sisters, Anna Mae Weaver and Donna Smith Dodson, and one brother, Carl Dodson. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Floyd was also predeceased by two sisters, Joan Hoyer and Millie Risendorph and one brother, Zane Dodson.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Eagles Club in Canajoharie, NY.

Cremation was held at Park View Crematory in Schenectady, NY.

Arrangements are by the Riley Mortuary, Inc., 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
