Felix De Cusatis

Felix De Cusatis, 98, of Wilkes Avenue, Amsterdam, NY; passed away Friday, June 24, 2022 at home.

Born in San Mauro La Bruca, Salerno Province, Italy on June 22, 1924, he was the son of the late Casimiro and Margherita Saulle De Cusatis.

Felix was a retired machinist, employed by North Eastern Water Jet of Amsterdam. He also worked at Electro Metrics, Fownes Brothers, Inc., and St. Mary’s Hospital, all in Amsterdam.

Felix learned to build cabinets in Italy and in his spare time used his skills to build all types of furniture He was also talented with many metal projects.

Felix was a veteran of the Italian Army. He was also a former member of St. Michael’s Church in Amsterdam.

On January 3, 1959, he was united in marriage to Mary D’ Arienzo De Cusatis. Mary predeceased Felix on February 15, 2004.

Felix is survived by one son, Gerard De Cusatis (Mary), three grandchildren, Peter, Maxwell and Teagan De Cusatis all of Amsterdam, one sister, Maurina De Cusatis of Italy and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Felix was also predeceased by three brothers, Agostino, Domizio and Giuseppe and three sisters, Orsolina, Fedela and Antonia.

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours at the Riley Mortuary, Inc., 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010, Friday July 1, 2022 from 4 to 7 p.m. and where the funeral service will be held Saturday morning, July 2, 2022 at 11 a.m. with Very Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis, V.F. officiating.

Interment will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Amsterdam, NY. memorial gifts in Felix’s name may be made to Community Hospice, 179 Lawrence Street, Saratoga springs, NY 12866
