Eugene V. Discenza

Eugene V. DiScenza, 79, of Kalispell, MT; formerly of Amsterdam, NY; passed away Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Edgewood Vista Assisted Living in Kalispell.

Born in Amsterdam, NY; September 11, 1943, he was the son of Eugene V. and Mary Elmy DiScenza, Sr.

Gene was a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch Senior High School. Class of 1961 and Albany Business College where he received his Diploma for Basic IBM Machine Operations & Functional Wiring Principles.

Gene was honorably discharged from the Reserve of the United States Air Force.with the rank of Staff Sergeant in 1970.

He also served the area as a volunteer for GAVAC in the 60’s and early 70’s.

He started working in the auto body repair field around 1965 with Altieri’s Auto, Inc. Later he started Florida Auto Parts and subsequently sold to what became Sal’s Florida Auto Parts.

In the 80’s he moved his auto body shop, Gene’s Auto Body to Hartley Road in the Town of Florida, where he operated it until retiring and moving to Montana in 2018.

Gene had a passion for cars, especially Corvette’s. He had many over the years, but his favorite was the 1962 Fuelie.

Relatives and friends are invited to a graveside service , which will be held Thursday, March 23, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Truax Road, Amsterdam, NY.
