Eleanor Landry

Eleanor Landry, 90, of Jewett Street, Amsterdam, NY; passed away Sunday morning, September 30, 2018 at St. Mary’s Healthcare in Amsterdam.

Born on April 4, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Amanda Bombadier Miller.

Eleanor received her education and graduated from St. Mary’s Institute in Amsterdam.

She retired from St. Mary’s Hospital where she was an operating room nurse. Eleanor also an assistant at NAMI in Amsterdam, and was a member of the Inman Senior Center in Amsterdam.

Her husband, Jacques of 67 years, predeceased Eleanor on July 16, 2017.

Eleanor is survived by her son, Jacques J. Landry (Lisa) of Hinesburg, VT; two grandchildren, Jacques D. Landry and Marissa Landry. Nieces and nephews also survive.

Eleanor was also predeceased by her son, Robert Landry and two sisters, Doris Litchfield and Clair Kazor.

Cremation was held at Park View Crematory in Schenectady, NY.

A calling period will be held Thursday, October 4, 2018 beginning at 5:00 p.m. followed at 6:30 by a memorial prayer service at the Riley Mortuary, Inc., 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010.

Inurnment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fort Johnson, NY.

Memorial gifts in Eleanor’s name may be made to NAMI, 2000 Riverfront Center, or Inman Senior Center, 53 Guy Park Ave., both Amsterdam, NY 12010.
