Edward J. Korona Sr., 91, of Mohawk Drive, Tribes Hill, NY; passed away Sunday morning, October 14, 2018 at Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility in Amsterdam, NY.
Born in Fort Johnson, NY on September 29, 1927, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Mary Korona.
Ed received his education at St. Stanislaus School and in the Amsterdam school system.
He was self employed and the owner of Korona Builders in Amsterdam.
Ed was an honorably discharged United States Army veteran and served from 1950 to 1952 during the Korean Conflict.
Ed was a member of the John J. Wyszomirski American Legion Post 701 and the Bigelow Weavers Club, both in Amsterdam.
Ed is survived by his wife at home, Carol Pallone Korona, two sons, Donald Korona of Palatine Bridge, NY and Edward J. Korona Jr, one stepson, John Ottaviani, one daughter, Beverly Steele, two brothers, Stanly and Joseph Korona, two sisters, Josephine V’doviak and Gen Reuss, six grandchildren, Edward J. Korona III, Sydney Korona, Liam Korona, Lawrence Steele, Elizabeth and Anthony Ottaviani, five great grandchildren, Irma, Logan, Isaiha, Nicholas and Vincent. Nieces, nephew’s cousins and brother-in-law, Walter Kowalczyk also survive.
Ed was also predeceased by a sister, Sophie Kowalczyk.
It was Ed’s wishes, that no calling hours or funeral services are held.
