Douglas R. Rose

Douglas R. Rose, Sr., 63, of Broadway, Rotterdam, NY; passed away Friday evening August 26,2022 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Schenectady, NY; he was the son of the late Virgil and Betty Woodbeck Rose Sr.

Doug received his education in the Schenectady school system and was employed as a heating technician for Apollo Heating in Schenectady until the onset of his illness.

He enjoyed golf and was a member of the Briar Creek Golf League.

Doug is survived by his loving companion of many years, Lisa Newkirk at home, one son, Douglas R. Rose (Megan) of Schenectady, NY; one daughter, Nicole M. Rose of Pennsauken, NJ; five grandchildren, Braeden and Weston Rose, Frank Tyller Alvarez, Mathilde Alvarez and Logan Newkirk and stepchildren, Kim and Keith Newkirk. Four brothers, ten sisters, and many nieces, nephews and cousins survive.

He was also predeceased by one brother and five sisters.

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours Wednesday, August 31,2022 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Riley Mortuary, Inc., 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010. Sharing memories of Doug will follow a 7 p.m.

Cremation will be held at Park View Crematory in Schenectady.
