Dorothy Mcclumpha

Dorothy Baird McClumpha, 97, passed away Tuesday evening August 28, 2012 at River Ridge Living Center in Amsterdam, NY.

Born February 19, 1915 in the Town of Glen, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Grace Mead Baird.

Dorothy was a graduate of Fultonville High School and Oneonta Teacher’s College, and was a certified Special Education Teacher. She taught in two rural schools, Nelliston Elementary, and in the Amsterdam School District. She was a member of the Amsterdam Retired Teachers Association and the New York State Retired Teachers Association.

Dorothy was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. An Ex- Regent of the Caughnawaga Chapter, NSDAR, she was also a member of the EX-Regents Club, New York State Organization, NSDAR.
Dorothy was a member and elder of the Florida Reformed Church. She also served on the board of Montgomery Transitional Services and was a member of the Labora Club at Minaville.

Dorothy married Gilbert McClumpha on August 28, 1943 and resided in the Town of Florida; Gilbert passed away July 15, 1983. Dorothy is survived by two sons, Charles McClumpha and Chester McClumpha (Marie), of the Town of Florida, and a daughter, Margaret Hampson, of Amsterdam; three grandchildren, Patricia McClumpha (Joseph), Corrine Holloway (Tim), and Todd Hampson (Tracy); and five great grandchildren, Skye and Shea Holloway, and Daniel, Natalie, and Luke Hampson. Several cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 12P.M. at the Riley Mortuary, Inc. 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY.

Interment will follow at the Chuctanunda Cemetery in Minaville, NY.

Relatives and friends may call from 10 A.M. to 12 P.M, prior to the funeral service at the Riley Mortuary.
