David F.” Dynamite” Blinsinger, 75, passed away December 24, 2022 at home with his family by his side.
Born in Amsterdam, NY; April 16, 1947, he was the son of the late Stephen and Mary Ward Blinsinger.
Dave received his education in the Amsterdam school system and was a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School, class of 1967.
Dave was an honorably discharged United States Navy veteran, serving aboard the USS Newport News, a heavy Cruiser, from 1968 to 1969.
Dave was employed as a butcher for many years at Joe’s Market and most recently as a custodian at St. Mary’s Institute and St. Mary’s Church. He was also a former member of the Bigelow Weavers Club in Amsterdam, NY. Dave was an avid Jack Johnson fan and attended races at Fonda Speedway and many other tracks throughout NYS for many years.
Dave is survived by a brother, Gerald Blinsinger, a sister Nola Szypula, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Dave was predeceased by three brothers, Richard, Robert and Ronald Blinsinger and a sister, Jeanette Montagnino.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 156 East Main Street,Amsterdam, NY 12010, with Fr Martin Kordel, CRL as celebrant. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 prior to the mass at the church
Interment will follow at St, Mary’s Cemetery, Fort Johnson, NY.
Memorial gifts in Dave’s name may be made to St. Mary’s Institute 10 Kopernick Blvd, Amsterdam, NY 12010 or to St. Mary’s Church.
