Carrol Laporte

Carol J. LaPorte, 63, of Prospect Street, Fort Johnson, NY; passed away Sunday afternoon, January 16, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam, NY.

Born in Corinth, NY;on May 8, 19447, she was the daughter of the late Durward and Ruth LaPorte Osgood.

Carrol received her education in the Schenectady school system and was a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School .

Carrol was last employed at the YMCA in child care with children with special needs.

Carrol was past president of New Wave Cruisers Car Club in Amsterdam.

Carrol is survived by two sons, Michael Broady (Jennifer) of Palatine Bridge, NY; and Wayne Gaige (Elizabeth) of Gloversville, NY; two daughters, Shannon Berkheiser (William) of Binghamton, NY; and Kelly Appell (Breck) of Ankeny, IA; two brothers, Robert Osgood of New Canaan, CT; and William Osgood of Las Vegas, NV; and nine grandchildren. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Carrol was also predeceased by her brother, Randy Osgood in 1995.

Funeral services will be held on Friday evening at 7:00 at the Riley Mortuary, Inc. 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY. 12010.

Inurnment will be at the convenience of the family.
