Carol Ann Greco

Carol Ann Greco, of Oak Lane, Amsterdam, NY passed away at home Sunday June 16, 2024.

Carol was born in Amsterdam on March 9, 1941 to the late Bernard and Permelia Pagie Cowles.

She was a graduate of St. Mary’s Institute, Amsterdam, NY. She was a stay at home mom for many years and then had a variety of jobs she enjoyed including working at Eileen’s China Shop, Dr. Proshanta Saha, and Dr. Myung W. Surh.

Carol was a lifelong parishioner of St. Mary’s Church, Amsterdam, NY and was a member of St. Mary’s Healthcare Auxiliary. Carol and Gene became ‘snowbirds’ in 1989 and spent half their time at their home in Florida. She was a communicant of St. Clement’s Church, in Plant City, Florida and was very active with the St. Clement’s Strawberry Festival and the St. Clement’s Food Bank.

Carol is survived by her husband of 61 years, Eugene F. Greco, her son, Eugene (Christina) Greco of Red Bank, NJ; her daughter, Lynette G. (Anthony) Turo of Amsterdam, NY; her brother, Ronald (Betsey) Cowles of Gloversville, NY; her grandchildren, Alexandra Greco and Nicholas Greco and his wife Mindy, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brothers Robert, Richard, and James and her sister Beverly.

Carol’s Funeral Mass will be Monday, June 24, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 156 East Main Street, Amsterdam, NY. Friends can pay their respects to the family from 10:00 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Church.

The Rite of Committal will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ft. Johnson, NY.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to St. Mary’s Church.
