Another member of the “Greatest Generation” has been called home to the Lord. Bernadine Corrigan, 88, of Delray Beach, Florida and formerly of Amsterdam, NY passed away peacefully Thursday morning August 30, 2012 at Bethesda Memorial Hospital in Boynton Beach, Florida.
Born in Amsterdam, NY on July 11, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Katherine Roman Trzaskos.
Bernadine was a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School.
Bernadine was a former parishioner of the Church of St. John the Baptist and St Mary’s Church in Amsterdam. Currently she was a parishioner and communicant of St Vincent Ferrer Church in Boynton Beach, Florida.
Bernadine was a woman of great faith and devoted her life to her family.
Her husband George J. Corrigan Jr., to whom she was married on September 10, 1944 passed away November 22, 1984. Bernadine is survived by two sons, George J. Corrigan III (Jeanne) of Rexford, NY and Kevin Corrigan (Paula) of Oakland Park, Florida, one daughter Mary Beth Corrigan of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, six grandchildren, Erin Parrotte (Brian), Maura Agati (Andrew), Shannon Koon (Brian), Laura Beth Kulbako (Matthew), Stephanie and Samantha Corrigan, nine great grandchildren, Jailyn and Grady Parrotte, Grace, Ava and Adrienne Agati, Madeleine and Anna Koon, Justin and Natalia Kulbako, three sisters, Clara Snyder of Loudonville, NY, Marguerite Traskas (Trzaskos) and Marion Howlan both of Amsterdam, NY. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Bernadine was also predeceased by three brothers, Frank, Celian and an infant brother, John, two sisters, Ann Barczak and Dorothy Traskas (Trzaskos).
Funeral services will be held on Thursday morning at 8:15 at the Riley Mortuary, Inc 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:15, celebrated at St. Mary’s Church 156 East Main Street, Amsterdam.
Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery in Amsterdam.
Calling hours are Wednesday from 4:30 to 7:30 at the Riley Mortuary.
