Barbara M. Campo, 85, of Amsterdam, NY; passed away Sunday morning, February 21, 2021 at Albany Medical Center.
Born in Amsterdam on September 11, 1935, she was the daughter of the late John and Martha Dominic Moskal.
Barbara received her education in the Amsterdam school system and was a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch Senior High School.
Barbara was first employed as a secretary at General Electric Co. in Schenectady until becoming a homemaker and subsequently was employed by Dr. Proshanta Saha’s office in Amsterdam.
Barbara was a parishioner and communicant of St. Stanislaus Church in Amsterdam.
Barbara was married to Joseph J. Campo Jr., on October 26, 1958. He predeceased her on August 28, 2011. Survivors include one daughter, Johanna DeRose (Matthew) of Amsterdam, two sons, John J. Campo (Lisa) of Clifton Park, NY; and Mark A. Campo (Kim) of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; seven grandchildren, Joseph, Anthony and Kayla Campo, Chantelle, Shane, Marcus and Cheyanne DeRose and three step grandchildren, Kobe and Alexa Rodriguez and Matt DeRose, many nieces, nephews,cousins, sisters and brothers in law and her best friend from grade school, Mary Jobin, whose friendship she cherished also survive.
Barbara was also predeceased by six brothers and three sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated this spring on a date and time to be announced.
Interment will also take place in the spring at St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
Barbara loved to cook, spending time with her family and especially babysitting for her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her children and grandchildren, but reunited with her husband whom she dearly missed.
Barbara’s family would like to thank the entire staff and vascular team at Albany Medical Center, especially Dr. Sergo Gabunia, Dr. Andrew Coates. Dr. Chin Chin Yeh and Dr. Owen Glotzer and for all of the kindness and compassion they showed towards Barbara during her illness.
