Barbara Ann Malone

Barbara Ann Roman Malone, 78, of Broadalbin, NY; passed away March 13, 2020, after a long illness. Born in Amsterdam, NY; on August 31, 1941, she was the daughter of the late William and Victoria Maciejewski Roman.

She attended St. Mary’s Institute and SUNY Oneonta and graduated from Indiana University.

She retired from NYS Department of Education in Albany. Barbara loved to cook and will be remembered fondly for many tasty dishes, lovingly shared!


Barbara is survived by her husband, Frank Malone, of Broadalbin NY; daughter, Maureen Malone of Boston, MA; two nieces, Susan Zawisa Peterson and Mary Kim Bresonis Purcell, and two nephews, Bill Bresonis and John Zawisa. She was predeceased by her sisters Dorothy Bresonis and Phyllis Zawisa, and her nephew, Philip Zawisa.


Barbara’s family is grateful for the loving care she received at River Ridge Living Center in Amsterdam. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.

A memorial service will be held at the Riley Mortuary in the near future with a time and date to be announced.
